Site visit was conducted with the operator. Well has no Well ID Plate No. and is located between 250-300 feet of the Englishman River. The drilled well has an approximately 4-5ft stick up and is surrounded and protected by stack of 2 by 3 concrete blocks. Well cap is secure. There is some leaf litter around the base of the stick up which may need clearing for monitoring and inspections. The well used to feed into an underground concrete reservoir, which is now unused. It now goes into the pump house to a small, white plastic, above ground reservoir, with secure black lid. No treatment on this system has been installed. Water is distributed to the homes on the property directly to from the pump house. Septic systems have appropriate set backs from the well, however, a detailed site diagram will need to be provided to confirm. There is a history of Total Coliforms in water samples dating back to 2022. The reason for intermittent total coliforms is likely due to the lack of a surface seal (well constructed in 1968). Recent water samples have shown no counts of Total Coliform or E.coli; the operator will need to confirm whether these samples were taken after shock chlorination. Please ensure the chlorine level is 0ppm before taking a raw water sample. The most recent chemical sample was received in April 2022 and is considered up to date. Chemical parameters are within acceptable ranges. Source Assessment and Ground Water at Risk of Pathogens Assessment was completed in August 2022. This assessment determined this source to be GARP At Risk, which means treatment must be provided to meet the provincial drinking water objectives. A construction permit must be applied for and approved by our Public Health Engineer before adding the treatment system. The system must remain on Boil Water Advisory until an approved system is installed. Operator has resubmitted signed an updated Drinking Water Application for the existing system, received on site, thank you. An up to date Emergency Response Plan has been received for this water system, thank you. To confirm the distribution system of this property and for source approval, this application still requires additional information, including proposed treatment systems and a detailed site map with measured distances to property boundaries, major structures and distances from components of the septic systems, etc. Full application checklist for Source Approval was provided on site and is available Online. Please provide the additional information as soon as possible or by the deadline of April 30, 2025.
