Critical Inadequate Treatment

Inadequate treatment and disinfection of the surface water drinking water supply. Water system continues to be under a Boil Water Notice and is currently in process of upgrading the Water System to include required treatment to meet the British Columbia Surface Water Treatment Objectives and the Drinking Water Protection Act.

Corrective Actions: Continue to move forward with upgrades to the System as per the approved Construction Permit of November 1, 2021. Continue to follow all Boil Water Notice precautions and ensure any new Water System users are informed. Continue to ensure all users are reminded on a regular basis of the Boil Water Notice.

Non-Critical Emergency Response Plan

The water system does not have an Emergency Response Plan in place.

Corrective Actions: Continue to develop an Emergency Response Plan and submit to Drinking Water Officer (DWO) for review. Emergency Response Plans are to be reviewed annually and revisions forwarded to the Drinking Water Officer (DWO) for review, if applicable.

Comments

Drinking Water Officer (DWO) and Operator discussed Boil Water Notice measures in place, including signage, notification to all users at Annual General Meeting, and informing new residents. -Update regarding current status in upgrades to Water System was also discussed.
