Cedar Lane Water System

Routine Inspection conducted for drinking water system with approximately 37 residential connections: System supplied by two deep wells (Well#1 - ID 12964, Well #5 - ID 12966). Wells are located in secure, well maintained structures with no pooling water around well head. Well caps secure. Source waster is blended and treated with cartridge filter (1 micron nominal), UV (NSF/ANSI 55 Class A unit), and chlorine (liquid sodium hypochlorite). Alarms equipped for UV transmittance, well water levels, reservoir. SCADA system in place. Bacteriological sampling conducted monthly at several sampling sites. Results are satisfactory. Chemical analysis preformed quarterly. Reservoir appears to be in good condition. Last inspected and cleaned in 2022. Operator on site twice per week for routine monitoring and maintenance. Emergency Response Plan available. Each connected metered. Note: Water quality advisory issued in 2021 to waster system users to Manganese levels exceeding the maximum acceptable concentration (MAC) as per the guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality. Addition of Manganese treatment projected to be completed by end of 2023. Please submit application for construction Permit to the Public Health Engineer.
