Critical Inadequate Treatment

-inadequate treatment and disinfection of the water system. Boil Water Notice continues to be in effect and water system is currently in process of upgrading the water system to include the required treatment to meet the British Columbia Surface Water Treatment Objectives and the Drinking Water Protection Act.

Corrective Actions: - Continue to move forward with upgrades to the system as per the approved Construction Permit of November 1 2021. Continue to follow Boil Water Notice precautions and ensure any new water users are informed. Ensure on a routine basis that all Boil Water Notice signage at water system standpipes are present and legible and that all users are reminded of the Boil Water Notice status.

Non-Critical Emergency Response Plan

- Water system does not have a fully developed Emergency Response Plan in place.

Corrective Actions: - Continue to develop an Emergency response Plan and submit to the Drinking Water Officer (DWO) for review. Emergency Response Plans are to be reviewed annually and revisions forwarded to the (DWO) Drinking Water Officer for review. Ensure that the plan is updated to include water system upgrades, when applicable.



Comments
Met with operator for in-person meeting at Environmental Public Health program office Campbell River on October 22, 2025 to obtain update as to progress regarding upgrades currently underway for purpose of water system meeting the British Columbia Surface Water Treatment Objectives. Access road to treatment building was currently impassable due to installation of distribution system piping for upgraded system. General Comments: - Discussed installation and location of sample ports at treatment building area.(raw water, post treatment, post-reservoir) as well as withing distribution system (to be reviewed again in near future). - Discussed Boil Water Notice and measures taken to ensure that users are informed of the Notice. Discussed ensuring that new owners are notified of the Notice. Current measures include posted signage at standpipes, notification to users during Annual General Meeting (included in minutes), and emails to users. - Ensure Drinking Water Officer (DWO) is regularly updated regarding status of treatment upgrade
