Well water source (ID Plate No. 26066) is a deep, drilled well of 260ft and static water level of only 2ft.
Well is adequately distanced from the septic field, measured to be greater than 100 feet (120 ft) away.
There is a pump house that may have space for adding treatment components in the future.
The old concrete reservoir is being used. A second, black polymer water storage tank has been purchased but not used and is stored on the property.
Connection to the new reservoir will require a construction permit or waiver, please submit details to our Public Health Engineer for approval.
A contracted well driller was servicing the well at the time of inspection, so the well cap could not be observed.
Operator has resubmitted signed Drinking Water Applications for this property, thank you.
Our records show that this source is being distributed to homes on this property and to 884 Island Hwy E.

Operations and Maintenance - Inadequate Construction or Protection of Infrastructure
Observations: The concrete reservoir is below ground. A wooden lid sits on the opening and is covered by a green plastic lid. A square of 5 inches by 5 inches has been cut into this lid and an insulated white pipe inserted into the square. Gaps around the pipe are evident and this is where rain, soil, flood water and pests can enter.
Additionally, the vent for this reservoir is vertical and not bent or screened. Contamination and pests can also enter through the vent.
History of total coliforms from water samples have shown that this system has had contamination.
Corrective Actions:
1. Replace or repair the lid to prevent contamination or pest entry.
2. Replace the vent with one that is bent downwards. Ensure the vent is screened to prevent pest entry.
OR
Apply for a construction permit to the Public Health Engineer to allow for the new reservoir to be used with proper connections in place. Date to be completed by: As soon as possible. June 30, 2025.
A follow up inspection may be required to verify this issue has been corrected.
