Non-Critical Improper maintenance of distribution system
Free chlorine residual in the system has not been measured and recorded. No log available at the time of the inspection. Minimum required testing are one test from water leaving the retention tank and one test at the furthest point from the retention tank.
Corrective Actions: Obtain approved means of testing the chlorine residual in potable water for domestic use. Date to be corrected by: July 30th, 2025

Non-Critical Source unprotected and subject to contamination
Inactive well with plate # 13725 in front yard noted with broken cap. Cap is cracked and open to the environment. Ants noted going in and out of the opening. Operator is unsure if this well is decommissioned or not. No well record available.
Corrective Actions: 1- Operator to repair the cap and secure it in place. To be corrected immediately. 2- Operator is to provide DWO with information regarding decommissioning of the well. To be provided by July 30th, 2025.

Non-Critical Inadequate or improper construction of water works
Chlorine injector has been added to the system. This water work requires construction waiver however, we can not retroactively issue approvals but the Island Health public health engineer will review the work for record purposes only. Please keep in mind, all future works must obtain a permit or waiver before commencing.
Corrective Actions: Operator to complete required application and to provide the application to DWO for review by VIHA public health engineer. To be corrected by July 30th, 2025.

Non-Critical Inadequate Chemical Analysis Data
Last full chemical analysis of raw water has been conducted in 2018. A full water chemical analysis is due and to be conducted.
Corrective Actions: Operator to conduct a full chemical analysis for raw water by an accredited lab and send result to DWO by August 30th 2025.
