Critical Microbiological Contamination of Raw Water Supply Due To Other

The water system remains on a Boil Water Notice, issued July 18, 2025, due to source contamination with E. Coli and total coliform bacteria. The water supply system has not been disinfected.

Corrective Actions: A construction proposal for the installation of water treatment equipment has been submitted for approval by this office. In the interim, notify all water system users of the ongoing boil water notice and of how to use water appropriately throughout the duration of the notice.

Critical Inadequate Treatment

Water system treatment and disinfection does not meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Objectives (Microbiological) for Ground water Supply in BC (GWTO). Water sampling results, aquifer conditions, and general well water protection challenges have supported a new Ground Water at Rick of Pathogens determination of GARP - At Risk.

Corrective Actions: A construction proposal for the installation of water treatment equipment has been submitted to this office for approval.

Corrective Actions: Submit an updated Emergency Response Plan with edited contacts for the water system and with action items and steps specific to the water supply system. Compliance date: August 31, 2025. This is OVERDUE.

The water system requires routine oversight by an operator who is certified in the maintenance of the water supply system. The operating permit terms and conditions outline the minimum inclusion of the service contact for a certified contract operator.
