Description
312
Critical Inadequate Treatment
- GARP Assessment of Well "Ground Water At Risk Of Containing Pathogens" has been re-assessed. A copy of the report is provided with this inspection report and how assesses the Well as "At Risk - GARP". The At Risk Assessments relates to intermittent total coliform counts and elevated turbidity in Well, the aquifer being fractured crystalline bedrock and community sewer main within 50 feet of Wellhead.
Corrective Actions: - By March 2027 apply to our office for a Construction Permit or Waiver to upgrade the water system treatment to comply with Drinking Water Treatment Objectives (microbiological) for Ground Water Supplies in BC. The Treatment System will also need to effectively and reliably trat source water quality for maintaining effective disinfection. For the function of UV devices this would include turbidity, color, iron, manganese and tannins, all of which have been repeated issues from the source and after treatment and impact effective ultra violet transmittance.
313
Critical Operations and Maintenance /Other (specify below)
- Construction / Alteration / Upgrades of water system without Construction Permit or Waiver. Recent additions of Katalox Iron + Manganese Filter without Construction Waiver from Public Health Engineer, history of treatments changes without Construction Waiver in some incidents.
Corrective Actions: - All upgrades, alterations or extensions to water system requires Construction Permit or Waiver from Public Health Engineer prior to construction.
317
Non-Critical Inadequate or improper construction of water works
- Regarding MIFAB min - 500 npb devices connected to floor drain p-traps, provide update to our office on how back-flow prevention is addressed that complies with CSA Standard CAN/CSA B64.
Corrective Actions: - Provide update October 2026.
318
Non-Critical Inadequate Microbiological Analysis data
- Routine bacteriological testing is being changed to semi-monthly at Well and two Distribution sample sites.
Corrective Actions: - Ensure updated sampling frequency is maintained and lab reports are forwarded to our office for review as soon as possible.
319
Non-Critical Inadequate Chemical Analysis Data
- April 15 2025 testing at the Janitor Sink for Lead came back with 9.8ug/L. Additional testing and follow-up is needed to try and verify the cause of the results, if it is an ongoing issue for the water supply, and if needed how to resolve if counts are continuing above 5ug/L.
Corrective Actions: - Perform Lead Testing at the Source, Janitor Sink, Staff Sink and Public Washroom sink on the same day. Test after the water sits over night before any flushing, and all sample sites again after they were flushed for 3 - 5 minutes, Provide update October 2026.
319
Non-Critical Inadequate Chemical Analysis Data
- Updated performance testing is being required for UVT, turbidity, color, Iron, tannins and Manganese. Ensure all are sampled from the source and just before the UV Device on the same day.
Corrective Actions: - Provide performance testing in October 2026 and again by March 2027 to review performance of source and treatment.
323
Non-Critical Other
- Cut back brush near Wellhead, maintained ideally ~20+feet away.
323
Non-Critical Other
Develop and maintain a written Maintenance Plan for the water systema nd a Protection Plan for ~ 100 Feet around the Wellhead.
Corrective Actions: - Provide copies of plans by March 2027, include, maintenance schedule for all filter media and UV device operation, around the Well, identify potential risks and how they will be prevented or mitigated, and Monitoring Plan
323
Non-Critical Other
- Updated Emergency Response Plan for the following; - Corrective actions for UV device, Chlorine no longer in place. - Note all potential threats to providing potable water are notified to Drinking Water Officer as soon as reasonably possible. - Posting or rescinding water quality notices should be done in consultation with Drinking Water Officer - No By-passing UV Device automatic shut-off device without consulting with Drinking Water Officer and likely going on water quality notice.
