Description: Depth guidelines for loose fill material (if protective surfacing used) : minimum 15 cm (6”) for 1.5 metre (5’) equipment height minimum 30 cm (12”) for 2.3 metre (7’) equipment height (Consider surfacing table, Triax, etc.)
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure equipment between five feet and seven feet has at least six inches of protective surfacing.

Observations: Licensing observed that the single spinning wheel on the composite climber measured six feet in height. Licensing also observed that the protective surfacing under the spinning wheel measure between one inch and two inches and there were exposed roots.
3010 - CCLR 19(1)(a)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person

Observations: Licensing performed an audit of seven staff files this date. One file did not have a criminal record check (CRC) and one file had a CRC from a different organization.
3010 - CCLR 19(4)(a)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a valid certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry

Observations: This item is a carry over from Routine Follow Up Inspection dated April 22, 2024 regarding children from another licenced program using the washroom in the Group Child Care (School Age) program. Licensing was also notified this date that there was an unlicenced program being operating, up to five days per week, in the Group Child Care (School Age) program that is in the Gym.
