Corrective Actions Required: Ensure to operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care, specifically, staffing skills. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 27, 2025, Manager, submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: All staff received a copy of the Child Care Licensing Regulation for review. A meeting was held on May 30, 2025, with staff and board members to review policies and topics such as incident reporting and supervision. Attendance sheets were created for both licenced groups to help staff to track children throughout the day. Staff would count children regularly and conduct a final sweep of every area before leaving to ensure supervision at all times. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

Observations: Regarding intake May 6, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff did not demonstrate the skills required to ensure the health, safety and dignity of children when repeatedly they left children unsupervised.

Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 27, 2025, Manager, submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: All staff received a copy of the Child Care Licensing Regulation for review. A meeting was held on May 30, 2025, with staff and board members to review policies. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

Observations: Regarding intake May 6, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the supervision policy was not followed by staff when a child was left outdoors alone and when staff did not notice and intervene when two children where fighting over a toy as indicated in their policy.

Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 27, 2025, Manager, submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: The parent handbook and an informative sheet for practicum students were updated showing that practicum students were not left alone with children and were not counted in ratio. All staff received a copy of the Child Care Licensing Regulation for review. A meeting was held on May 30, 2025, with staff and board members to review policies and topics such as supervision. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

Observations: Regarding intake May 6, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that practicum students were acting as qualified employees and the ratio of employees to children attending the facility was less than permitted in Schedule E.

Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 27, 2025, Manager, submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: Attendance sheets were created for both licenced groups to help staff to track children throughout the day. Staff would count children regularly and conduct a final sweep of every area before leaving to ensure supervision at all times. Staff members involved in the miscounting of children were not longer employed. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
