Description: A licensee must ensure that water accessible to a person in care, from any source, is not heated to more than 49° Celsius.

Observations: Licensing audited seven person in care bedroom sinks. Two of the person's in care bedroom sinks had water readings between 49.3 and 53.1 degrees Celsius. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of persons in care and must be corrected immediately. The Manager / Licensee Contact stated the maintenance employee will adjust the water mixing valve for person in care bedroom sinks today and monitor the water sources. If the valve can not be adjusted; caution hot water signs will be posted and a Plumber trades person will be contacted to attend to the site. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.
