Description: Subject to subsection (3), if a person in care is involved in a reportable incident, the licensee must immediately notify the parent or representative, or contact person, of the person in care,
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that if a person in care is involved in a reportable incident, the licensee must immediately notify the parent or representative, or contact person, of the person in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 12, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included all nursing staff were to be educated to the Residential Care Regulations related to definitions of reportable incidents (schedule D), first aid (schedule C), and reporting a reportable incident and notifying the parent, representative or contact person of the persons in care, by December 31, 2024. A signature sheet of nursing staff would be collected as proof of education. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor the corrective action plan.

Observations: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that a representative was not notified when a person in care was involved in a reportable incident.

Description: Subject to subsection (3), if a person in care is involved in a reportable incident, the licensee must immediately notify a medical health officer, in the form and in the manner required by the medical health officer
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that if a person in care is involved in a reportable incident, the licensee must immediately notify a medical health officer, in the form and in the manner required by the medical health officer. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention.
