Description: A licensee must do all of the following: operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote in the case of adult persons in care, the rights of those persons in care;

Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that the facility is operated in a manner that will promote in the case of adult persons in care, the rights of those persons in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 18, 2025, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: a staff member completed a care plan review, policy and a Licensing course by August 15, 2025, a memo was sent to all staff on July 8 and 9, 2025 regarding the use of non-official languages on site, a meeting was held on October 6, 2025 regarding communication and official language use, and in August 2025, documentation education facility-wide included consent prior to providing treatment, documentation of refusals and correct documentation procedures, and by November 29, 2025, a memo was to be sent to nursing staff regarding review of expectations contained in the Bill of Rights with emphasis on dignity and respect when providing wheelchair mobility assistance and dignity preservation. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

Observations: Regarding intake July 11, 2025. Through the investigation process Licensing determined that staff had not promoted the person in care's rights when they spoke in a different language then persons in care Infront of persons in care, a person in care was moved in a wheelchair against their wishes, and a person in care had their clothes removed to search for items.

Description: Subject to subsection (3), if a person in care is involved in a reportable incident, the licensee must immediately notify a medical health officer, in the form and in the manner required by the medical health officer

The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
