Observations: Licensing observed that there was a wasp nest inside the composite climber in the outdoor play area. ECE stated that children did not have access to the climber because the wasps were aggressive. Manager stated she had tried to spray the wasps but the nest was inside of the structure. Licensing observed a minor incident log indicating a child had been stung by a wasp.
3010 - CCLR 19(1)(b)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person

Observations: Licensing observed that children were coming and going form the outdoor play area and into the facility without having constant supervision of an Educator or Assistant.
3060 - CCLR 46(1)
Description: A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

Observations: Licensing observed that toilet seat inserts used by children when going to the bathroom were kept inside the bathroom sink where children wash hands. Corrected at time of inspection.

Observations: Licensing observed that a playground log of inspections maintenance and repairs was not kept for January 3 to 7, 2022 and for July 22, 2022. The Manager indicated maintenance had been done on equipment that was not recorded on the log.

Observations: Licensing observed that a certificate for an Early childhood Educator has not been displayed.
