Observations: Licensing observed that there was a construction debris pile measuring 20 ft long x 4 ft wide x 2 ft tall adjacent to the footpath which the Group Child Care (School Age) program use to access their designated outdoor play area. This debris pile contained hazardous objects / materials including: broken plastic toys, wooden boards, broken sheets of plywood with sharp edges, and rusted nails [photos taken]. Licensee and Manager stated that they had recently replaced a wooden shed with a plastic shed for outdoor toys. They would arrange to have these materials disposed of appropriately over the coming weekend. Before tomorrow's program, they indicated they will secure the materials in a manner that makes it safer for children. They will contact Licensing for follow up inspection on completion.
