Observations: Licensing toured the facility and located unsecured chemical cleaners in two bathrooms. Licensing also noted the storage cabinet for chemicals did not have a lock.
3000 - RCR 35(1)(c)
Description: A licensee must provide the following appropriately furnished and equipped areas: secure, safe and adequate storage areas for cleaning agents, chemical products and other hazardous materials

Observations: Licensing reviewed Care Plans for two persons in care. Both persons in care did not have a current activity calendar listing planned daily activities.
3080 - RCR 72(b)
Description: A licensee must ensure that a person in care’s medication is returned to the dispensing pharmacy if the expiry date on the medication has passed.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure all expired medications are returned to the pharmacy.

Observations: Licensing inspected the medication cupboard and found three medications that appear to be expired and no longer in use.
