Description: A licensee providing a care program to any child younger than 36 months of age must provide a separate sleeping area located away from any activity area.
Corrective Actions Required: Licensing observed a child in Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) sleeping in the designated nap room at the time of inspection and no children were napping in the main classroom.

3000 - CCLR 16(4)(b)
Description: A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

Corrective Actions Taken By Licensee: Licensing observed pea gravol surfacing under the 64" slide measuring 8.5", 9" and 11" which was sufficient for the height of the equipment.

Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless they have first received a CRC for the person.

Observations: Licensing reviewed seven staff files. Three files had expired Criminal Record Check (CRC) letters. Manager stated they have been applied for.
3010 - CCLR 19(1)(b)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person

Corrective Actions Taken By Licensee: Licensing observed two staff files that had each only contained one written character reference letter, now both contained two written character references.

Description: A licensee must ensure that each employee practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month,
