Description: A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

Observations: Licensing tested one sink where children access hot water and the temperature was 57 ° Celsius. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care and must be corrected immediately. The staff stated that the children will only use the cold tap water and that the children would be supervised. Staff stated that a person came in to lower the water temperature. Staff would follow-up with the Licensee to have the water turned down. Licensing to follow-up on October 24, 2022 to retest the water temperature. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan to turn water temperature down has been implemented and completed.

Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person
