3010 - CCLR 19(1)(a)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person

Observations: Licensing performed an audit of seven staff files this date. One staff criminal record check (CRC) had expired in April 2023.
3040 - CCLR 53(1)(a)
Description: If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child’s parent or in the child’s record or care plan

Observations: Licensing observed three bottles of Infant Tylenol, labeled with the child's name, in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) classroom, one of which did not have a permission to administer form.
3070 - CCLR 57(2)(a)
Description: A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a)name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number (MSP number does not apply to REC only) and immunization status.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure children's files contain a medical insurance plan number.
