Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure not to employ a person in a community care facility unless you have first obtained a CRC.

Observations: Licensing reviewed 7 of 7 staff files. Two were missing CRC's and one had a CRC for another facility.

Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person

Description: A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C,

Observations: Licensing reviewed 7 of 7 staff files. One file had an expired first aid certificate. Staff stated the staff with the expired certificate does work alone with children.
3020 - CCLR 56(1)(c)
Description: A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]

Observations: Licensing observed the last fire drill recorded in May 2023. ITE on site stated fire drills have been conducted monthly.
3070 - CCLR 57(2)(d)
Description: A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner (doctor's name and number does not apply to REC only) and emergency contact

3080 - CCLR 11(4)
Description: A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
