Observations: Licensing observed two sand boxes one in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) and one in the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) program that did not have covers and appeared to need new sand. Licensing also observed that large blackberry thorny branches were encroaching through the fence into both the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) and Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) outdoor play areas.
3000 - CCLR 47
Description: A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure any hot water accessed by children is not heated to more than 49 C.

Observations: Licensing measured the hot water in all the bathrooms/sinks that children access. The hot water in Room 3 measured 50 C. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of persons in care and must be corrected immediately. A plan for corrective action is to be submitted to Licensing. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.
3000 - SPS DOLSOP (Inspected)
Description: Thorough daily, monthly and annual inspections, as well as maintenance and repairs of the outdoor play area are performed and recorded

Observations: Licensing reviewed inspections of the outdoor play spaces. No records were available showing a thorough daily, monthly and annual inspections as well as any maintenance and repairs.
3010 - CCLR 19(1)(a)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person

Observations: Licensing reviewed fire drills for the last 12 months. One fire drill was practiced in September 2021 but not recorded and no other fire drills were practiced between January 2021 and July 15, 2022.
3070 - CCLR 57(2)(a)
Description: A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a)name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number (MSP number does not apply to REC only) and immunization status.

Observations: Licensing inspected outdoor play equipment. Both categories of care at this facility allow children to ride bikes but no children's helmets are used.
