3000 - SPS DOLSOP (Clearance)
Description: A 1.8 metre (6 feet) clearance around equipment is considered safest

Observations: Licensing inspected a new piece of elevated equipment in the middle outdoor play area. This Little Tykes composite slide had a fall height of 4 feet 6 inches, but did not have six foot clearance from trees.
3000 - SPS DOLSOP (Depth)
Description: Depth guidelines for loose fill material (if protective surfacing used) :
minimum 15 cm (6”) for 1.5 metre (5’) equipment height
minimum 30 cm (12”) for 2.3 metre (7’) equipment height
(Consider surfacing table, Triax, etc.)
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure elevated equipment with a seven feet fall height has a minimum of 12 inches of depth surfacing and equipment with a five feet fall height has a minimum of 6 inches of depth surfacing.

Observations: Licensing measured depth surfacing under elevated equipment in the Group Child Care (School Age) program. The triple slide with seven feet monkey bars had between one and two inches of depth surfacing. The five feet high metal dome has between one and two inches of depth surfacing. Acting manager at this inspection stated children in the Group Child Care (School Age) programs will not use the elevated equipment until additional depth surfacing is added and Licensing returns to inspect the equipment to ensure it meets Licensing requirements.
3010 - CCLR 19(1)(a)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure all staff have a valid Criminal Record Check for this facility.

Observations: Licensing reviewed 13 staff files. One staff had a Criminal Record from a different agency.
3070 - CCLR 57(2)(a)
Description: A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a)name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number (MSP number does not apply to REC only) and immunization status.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure all children enrolled have immunization status on file.
