Description: A licensee must ensure that, at all times, the employees on duty are sufficient in numbers, training and experience, and organized in an appropriate staffing pattern, to assist persons in care with activities of daily living, including eating, mobility, dressing, grooming, bathing and personal hygiene, in a manner consistent with the health, safety and dignity of persons in care.

Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that at all time, the employees on duty are sufficient in numbers, training and experience, and organized in an appropriate staffing pattern, to assist persons in care with activities of daily living, including eating, mobility, dressing, grooming, bathing and personal hygiene, in a manner consistent with the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 31, 2025, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: a person in care would have staff supervision while eating in their room at all times, if a staff member from the person in care's floor was unavailable, an alternate staff would supervise and the person in care's care plan was updated to include supervision while eating. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

Observations: Regarding intake May 30, 2025. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the staffing pattern on an evening shift did not provide sufficient supervision to ensure the safety of a person in care while eating.
