Description: A licensee must ensure that the temperature in each bedroom, bathroom and common room is safe and comfortable for a person who is carrying out the types of activities that would be reasonably expected in the ordinary use of the room.

Observations: Licensing toured the facility and audited the temperature in the bedrooms of nine persons in care and in four bedrooms the temperature was above 25 degrees Celsius.
3010 - RCR 86(c)
Description: A licensee must keep the following records in respect of each employee: compliance with the Province’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs,
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that for each employee a record is kept in compliance of the Provinces immunization and tuberculosis control program.

Observations: Licensing audited twelve staff files and four staff files did not contain a record of immunizations.
3020 - RCR 74(1)(b)(i)
Description: Subject to subsection (2), a licensee may restrain a person in care if there is agreement to the use of a restraint given in writing by both the person in care, the parent or representative of the person in care or the relative who is closest to and actively involved in the life of the person in care,
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that if there is a restraint for a person in care there is an agreement to the use of the restraint given in writing by the person in care, the representative of the person in care or the relative who is closest to and actively involved in the life of the person in care.

Observations: Licensing audited the care plan's of six persons in care and three person in care who lived on the memory care unit did not have an agreement in writing by the person in care, the representative of the person in care or the relative who is closest to and actively involved in the life of the person in care for the environmental restraint.
3020 - RCR 74(1)(b)(ii)
Description: Subject to subsection (2), a licensee may restrain a person in care if there is agreement to the use of a restraint given in writing by both the medical practitioner or nurse practitioner responsible for the health of the person in care.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that if there is a restraint for a person in care there is an agreement to the use of the restraint given in writing by the medical or nurse practitioner responsible for the health of the person in care.
