Observations: Licensing observed that there was approximately 6 inches of stagnant water in a sandbox located in the outdoor play space. Licensing observed a portion of the fence had broken and left openings underneath the fence.
3000 - CCLR 47
Description: A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure children do not have access to water that is heated more than 49 degrees Celsius.

Observations: Licensing tested water accessible to children in care in the kitchen measured 61.3 degrees Celsius. Early Childhood Educator Assistant stated children accessed the kitchen sink when the bathroom sink was being used by other children. This is an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care and must be corrected immediately. Licensee turned off the hot water.
3010 - CCLR 19(4)(a)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a valid certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry

3010 - CCLR 19(5)(c)
Description: Despite this section, a licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: evidence that the person has complied with the Province’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observations: Licensing observed that a playground maintenance log was not kept. Licensee stated the fencing in the backyard was repaired, there was not record of this repair. Licensee stated they did daily playgrounds checks but did not record them.
