Description: A licensee must ensure that water accessible to a person in care, from any source, is not heated to more than 49° Celsius.

Observations: Licensing tested the water temperature in one of the bathrooms used by persons in care and observed the hot water to be 50.4 Celsius. Persons in care are unable to access hot water independently due to physical limitations. Staff are the operators of all water systems at the facility. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of persons in care and must be corrected immediately. Manager contacted service company for water heater and organized a service call for the same day. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan is implemented and completed.
