Description: A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

Observations: Licensing measured two sinks in the girls washroom and two sinks in the boys washroom. The first sink measured at 46 degrees Celsius and the second sink measured at 51 degrees Celsius. The two sinks in the boys washroom measured at 50 degrees Celsius. The space is shared with a church and the church maintenance turned down the hot water, since then there has been many groups using the church space and it could have been potentially turned up. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of persons in care and must be corrected immediately. The staff stated the hot water will be turned off until the tap is repaired. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.
