Description: A licensee must ensure that food and drink are not used as a form of reward or punishment for children.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that food and drink are not used as a form of reward or punishment. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On June 24, 2026, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: nutrition policies would be monitored through regular classroom observations, routine documentation reviews and staff performance check-ins. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

Observations: Regarding intake May 19, 2026. Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the staff member had used food as reward or punishment to encourage children to go to the washroom and guide challenging behaviours.

Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On June 24, 2026, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: On going compliance with the behaviour guidance policies will be monitored through regular classroom observations, routine documentation reviews and staff performance check-in's. Staff will receive clear instruction on positive behaviour guidance strategies to support children's development. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
