Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that the licensee has not employed a person in a community care facility unless the manager has obtained a criminal record check for the person.

Observations: Licensing audited nine staff files and five did not contain criminal record checks.
3010 - RCR 37(1)(e)
Description: A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has obtained all of the following: evidence that the person has complied with the Province’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Corrective Actions Required: Ensure that the licensee does not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or manager has obtained evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observations: Licensing audited nine staff records and six did not contain immunization records and nine did not contain tuberculosis test results.

Description: A licensee must ensure that the performance of each employee is reviewed both regularly and as directed by the medical health officer under subsection (2) to ensure that the employee continues to meet the requirements of this regulation,

Observations: Licensing audited nine staff files and none of the files contained current performance reviews. The Manager stated that these were currently in process for all staff.

Description: A licensee must ensure that all medications in the community care facility are safely and securely stored.

Observations: Licensing audited five rooms of persons in care and observed four rooms with topical medication accessible to persons in care.
