Description: A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

Observations: Licensing tested three sinks where children access hot water and the temperature were: 50.8; 51.5 and 54.1 ° Celsius. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care and must be corrected immediately. The Licensee Contact stated the hot water for two sinks had been turned off and the staff would ensure the children did not have access to the hot water for the third sink. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.
