Description: A licensee must ensure that the temperature in each bedroom, bathroom and common room is safe and comfortable for a person who is carrying out the types of activities that would be reasonably expected in the ordinary use of the room.

Observations: On October 30, 2025, Licensing was notified that there was no heat in the building due to an issue with the boiler. On this date, Licensing toured the facility and observed multiple portable heaters that were not in use, due to short circuiting the electrical system. Persons in care expressed feeling cold and were wearing multiple layers of clothing and blankets. The temperature in common areas ranged from 14.8 degrees Celsius to 17.3 degrees Celsius, and bedrooms ranged from 13.9 degrees Celsius to 16.9 degrees Celsius. Licensing requested an updated plan to be submitted to address this contravention.
