Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that children had access to the laundry basket containing dirty laundry
Corrective action: Ensure a program is established to instruct children in, and to practice the rules of, health and hygiene. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On March 15, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: The laundry basket would be inaccessible to children in care and this was to be communicated to the staff via an email. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On March 18, 2024, Licensing received a copy of an email sent to staff indicating the laundry baskets were to be inaccessible to children in care. On April 4, 2024 Licensing conducted a complaint follow up inspection and observed the laundry baskets were either stored in the nap room or in the bathroom when they were not in use. All staff stated the children did not have access to the laundry basket.
