Category/Description
A licensee must ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (c) harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child’s self respect
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that children in care were subject to emotional abuse, specifically the parents of [child A,B, and C] used language and tone upsetting to children in care.
Corrective action: Ensure that while under the care of the Licensee, children in care were not subjected to emotional abuse. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s required by Licensing: On January 11, 2024 and March 7, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. The corrective action plan included [Child A, B, and C] no longer attended and the vaccination requirement would be removed from the Parent Handbook. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On May 8, 2024, at a Follow Up Inspection Licensing reviewed the updated Parent Handbook that showed the removal of the vaccination requirement.
