A licensee must ensure that no one other than a person in care engages in a restricted activity while on the premises of the community care facility
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff engaged in a restricted activity while on the premises of the community care facility. Specifically, staff smoked on the premises.
Corrective action: Ensure that no one other than a person in care engages in a restricted activity while on the premises of the community care facility. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On September 27, 2023, October 19, 2023, and November 3, 2023, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: the smoking policy was amended to reflect that the facility had a staff smoking area off the premises, a memo was distributed to staff regarding the new policy, and the premises of the facility was redefined that excluded the staff smoking area, with a new site plan submitted to Licensing on November 3, 2023. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
