A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees
Observation: Through the investigation process, a healthy and safe environment was not provided at all times while children were under the supervision of employees. Specifically, related to staff being unclear on the dilution process for Viper concentrate.
Corrective action: Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On March 7, 2024, Rachel Yukich, Manager submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: The spray bottles for Viper would be labelled with its volume, including the appropriate amount of Viper concentrate to be added to ensure the 1:28 dilution was achieved and a measuring tool would be provided. Staff were to be informed in person and via email about the protocols. The staff orientation binder would be updated to include the protocol. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On March 20, 2024 Licensing received a copy of the email sent to current staff and confirmation from the Manager who had informed the staff in person. On March 27, 2024, Licensing conducted a Follow Up Inspection. Licensing received a copy of the updated staff orientation that included the Viper protocol. Licensing observed the Viper spray bottles had been labeled with it's volume and a measuring tool was provided to ensure the 1:28 dilution was followed.
