A licensee must ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance,
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined staff did not demonstrate age appropriate behaviour guidance.
Corrective action: Ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and envelopment of the child who is receiving the guidance. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific the this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On April 9, May 19 and June 7, 2023 Licensee submitted a correction plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: On May 9, 2023 Licensing received an email stating the behavioural guidance policy and expectations had been discussed at a meeting with all staff at the facility. This meeting included behavioral guidance techniques, tone of voice, positive communication and moving forward the behavioural guidance policy would be reviewed and signed off on annually that the staff had read and understood. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On October 31, 2023 Licensing received a signed staff meeting attendance sheet for May 9, 2023 indicating staff had signed off that they had at discussed appropriate behaviour guidance and care plan development.
The licensee must develop the care plan in consultation,with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: Though the investigation process, Licensing determined that a care plan had not been developed in consultation with a parent of a child requiring extra support.
Corrective action: Ensure care plans are developed for children requiring extra support and made aware to any persons working with the child. Action/s Required by Licensing: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On April 9, May 19 and June 7, 2023, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included care plans developed in consultation with parents, staff and any support workers for any child requiring extra support of who had a specific diagnosis and shared with staff working with the child. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On October 31, 2023 Licensing received staff meeting notes that care plans were discussed on May 9, 2023 and signed off by the staff that they attended. A care plan done in consultation with a parent was also submitted to Licensing on October 31, 2023.
