Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff were not following facility policies related to speaking English around persons in care.
Corrective action: Ensure that policies are implemented by employees. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On April 14, 2022, Licensee Contacts submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. This corrective action plan included: On April 14, 2022, an email was sent out to all department leaders and staff to remind them of the Employee Responsibility Policy, specifically speaking English around persons in care, all staff reviewed and signed off in acknowledgement the Employee Responsibility Policy, a staff reviewed all care plans by April 21, 2022 and ensured nutrition plans and therapeutic diets were accurate, and Licensing received a copy of a person in care's care plan which included living at risk in regarding independent nutrition choices and regular monitoring. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On April 14, 20, and 25, 2022 Licensing received email confirmation of compliance with the corrective action plan.
