3010 - CCLR 19(1)(f) 
 

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: evidence that the person has complied with the Province’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that a staff had been employed, prior to obtaining their immunization status.

Corrective action: Ensure a criminal record check from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General was obtained for all employees. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 20, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that all required documents for a staff file would be obtained, prior to a staff starting employment. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On November 20, 2024, Licensing received immunization status for staff.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: a criminal record check for the person

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the Licensee had employed a staff, without first obtaining a criminal record check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.

Corrective action: Ensure a criminal record check from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General was obtained for all employees. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 20, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that all required documents for a staff file would be obtained, prior to a staff starting employment. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On November 20, 2024, Licensing received missing criminal record check for staff.

3010 - CCLR 19(1)(b) 
 

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that character references had not been obtained for a staff, prior to her employment.

Corrective action: Ensure a criminal record check from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General was obtained for all employees. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 20, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that all required documents for a staff file would be obtained, prior to a staff starting employment. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On September 24, 2024, Licensing received missing character references for staff.
