Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the facility was not maintained in a good state of repair.
Corrective action: Ensure that all rooms and common areas are maintained in a good state of repair. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 4, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: education was provided to staff on the process and importance of maintenance requests, leadership debrief occurred on August 3, 2022 on air conditioning repairs and challenges, there was a two year contract with ESC Automation Inc., signed June 28, 2022 to assist with any future service delivery failures and additional air conditioning units were purchased on September 27, 2022. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
A licensee must ensure that each bedroom has a window that provides natural light to the bedroom, with coverings that block out light and protect the privacy of the occupant.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the facility did not have window coverings to ensure the privacy of a person in care.
Corrective action: Ensure that each bedroom has a window that provides natural light to the bedroom, with coverings that block out light and protect the privacy of the occupant. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 4, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: education was provided to staff on the process and importance of maintenance requests, staff education was provided on August 2, 2022 regarding privacy and dignity and the Support Services Manager was to complete an audit of window coverings. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On December 23, 2022, Licensing received photographs which indicated that window coverings were in place.
