Subject to subsection (3), if a person in care is involved in a reportable incident, the licensee must immediately notify a medical health officer, in the form and in the manner required by the medical health officer
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the Licensee did not immediately notify the Medical Health Officer when a person in care was involved in a reportable incident.
Corrective action: Ensure that the Medical Health Officer is notified immediately in the form and manner required, if a person in care is involved in a reportable incident. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On April 22, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included all nurses were to review Schedule D of the Residential Care Regulation for reportable incidents, the report form and the process at a Nurse's meeting on April 24, 2024. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor the corrective action plan. On April 30, 2024, Licensing received a copy of the email sent to nurses with attachments for review, as well as Nurse's meeting minutes dated April 24, 2024 related to incident reporting.
