3020 - CCLR 56(2) 
 

A licensee must ensure that the policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees.

Observation: Through the investigative process, Licensing determined that posted hours of operation were not available to parents and early pick-up was requested.

Corrective action: Ensure policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 16, 2021 and January 7, 2022 Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. This corrective action plan included an updated policy that notified parents that early pick-ups could be requested during transition into care or if a child was inconsolable. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.

3090 - CCLR 44(1)(b) 
 

A licensee must provide to children a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is appropriate for the age and development of children in each group in the community care facility, (except REC only)

Observation: Through the investigative process, Licensing determined non sleeping children were required to stay on a cot for one hour.

Corrective action: Ensure children are provided a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is appropriate for the age and development of children in each group in the community care facility. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 16, 2021 and January 7, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. This corrective action plan included a Nap Time Policy, which stated that children were encouraged to stay on their cot for thirty minutes, but if the child remained awake after thirty minutes, they could leave the cot and participate in quiet activities. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On July 4, 2022 Licensing conducted an Unscheduled Routine Inspection. Staff stated that children that were not asleep after fifteen minutes of rest could leave the nap room and do quiet activities in the play room.

3020 - CCALA 7(1)(b)(i) 
 

A licensee must do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care

Observation: Through the investigative process, Licensing determined termination and repayment policies were not followed.

Corrective action: Ensure that the community care facility is operated in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 16, 2021 and January 7, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. This corrective action plan included updated termination and repayment policies. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
