The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that not all persons ordinarily present had valid criminal record checks.
Corrective action: Ensure a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present is not permitted on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 1, 2023, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that Licensee would confirm criminal record checks were in hand before any new tenants, employees or volunteers started at the facility, they would maintain a criminal record check folder in a desk filing drawer and scan for digital backup and when a new criminal record check was received, they would add a calendar reminder for six months before it expired. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan.
