3030 - CCLR 52(1)(c) 
 

A licensee must ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (c) harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child’s self respect

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined a child had been subjected to harsh, belittling treatment by staff.

Corrective action: Ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child's self respect. Action/s Required by Licensee; Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 9 and 12, 2022, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: a staff would be terminated if there was a question of their action that involved the health and safety of children in care. A staff was terminated during the investigation process. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On September 1, 2022, during a Routine Inspection, Licensing observed that a staff was no longer employed at the facility.

3010 - CCLR 23(1)(a) 
 

A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C,

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that a staff member who worked alone with children did not have a valid first aid and CPR certificate.

Corrective action: Ensure that children have at all time immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 9 and 12, 2022, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: staff would submit copies of relevant certificates prior to being scheduled at the facility. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On September 1, 2022 during a Routine Inspection Licensing observed that all staff had valid first aid and CPR certificates on file.
