Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the staff to child ratio was not maintained in the morning and during nap time.
Corrective action: Ensure that staff to child ratios are maintained at all times. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On January 18, 2023, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included hiring additional educators, break sign in and out sheet for staff, staff would for go breaks if the staff to child ratio could not be maintained, an Infant and Toddler Educator would open each Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) programs and the corrective action plan would be shared with staff. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On March 22, 2023, Licensing conducted a Follow Up to Routine inspection and observed that the staff to child ratio was compliant in all programmes.
