A licensee must ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance,
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the Licensee physically removed a child by picking up the child under the arm pits as per behavioural guidance.
Corrective action: Ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: Between May 6 and June 4, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included using all behaviour guidance strategies to mitigate challenging behaviours and under no circumstances they would physically move children. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan.
