A licensee must do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined the Licensee did not ensure the health and safety of children in care, specifically, documentation had not been reviewed before a child attended, and proper notification had not been given to parents in regards to field trips and outings.

Corrective action: Ensure to do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: This investigation was identified in the Final Investigation Report which identified contraventions to the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulation. Conditions were imposed on the facility licence on April 26, 2023.

3040 - CCLR 53(2)(a) 
 

A licensee must ensure that a child’s medication is not accessible to any child, except that a child may have access to his or her own medication if (a) the child’s parent has instructed the licensee to permit this,

Observation: Through the investigation process Licensing determined medication consent requirements and medication instructions had not been followed by staff.

Corrective action: Ensure that a child's medication is not accessible to any child, except that a child may have access to his or her own medication if (a) the child's parent has instructed the licensee to permit this. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to this contravention.
