A licensee must ensure that food and drink are not used as a form of reward or punishment for children.

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that that food and drink were used as a form of reward or punishment for children.

Corrective action: Ensure that food and drink are not used as a form of reward or punishment for children. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On September 26, 2023 the Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included, policies had been reviewed during a staff meeting dated September 28, 2023, and on December 1, 2023, Licensee Contact emailed Licensing an extensive training plan for staff related food and drink. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan.

A licensee must ensure that a child is not, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, subjected to any of the following types of abuse or neglect: Neglect

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the Licensee did not ensure that a person in care was not, while under the care or supervision of the Licensee, subjected to neglect.

Corrective action: Ensure that a child is not, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, subjected to neglect. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On September 26, 2023 the Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included, staff had been terminated from employment, all incidents involving Schedule H, including allegations of abuse by a staff to a child would result in immediate termination and an incident report would be submitted to Licensing with 24 hours, policies had been reviewed during a staff meeting dated September 28, 2023, and on December 1, 2023, Licensee Contact emailed Licensing an extensive training plan for staff related to incident reporting, behavioral guidance, professional conduct and food and drink. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan.
