3030 - CCLR 34(2)(a)

Without limiting subsection (1) a licensee must ensure that children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E, (except FCC/IHMACC/REC; child qualified if in age range or within one month (except GCC School Age)).

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the Licensee had children in care who did not meet the definition of preschool children [children who were at least 30 months old but not had yet entered grade 1] due to an early dismissal.

Corrective action: Ensure that children are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On June 3, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included a plan to ensure that children who did not meet the definition of preschool children were not attending daycare without a Temporary Placement/Retain (TPR) in place. Starting 2024-2025 school year, the daycare would be closed during all Professional Development days to ensure children who did not meet preschool definition were not in care. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
