A licensee must do all of the following: ensure that policies are implemented by employees.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that employees did not implement the Facility Dress Code, Personal Appearance and Official Language policy, which indicated to speak English in front of persons in care.
Corrective action: Ensure that all policies are implemented by employees. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On October 29 and November 5, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that a staff meeting was held on November 15, 2024, regarding the use of speaking English in the workplace with meeting attendance, all staff on the sixth floor were to review and sign the official language policy by November 15, 2024 and Leadership were to conduct spot checks on the unit for three months and copies of the spot check rounds were sent to Licensing. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On November 22, 25 and 26, 2024, Licensing received a copy of the meeting attendance and policy sign offs and on January 29, 2025, Licensing received a copy of the spot check rounds conducted by leadership.
