Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff to child ratios were not compliant with Schedule E.
Corrective action: Ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On April 11, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. This corrective action plan included one of the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) programs was changing to Multi Age with an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) working in the program 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. daily. An Amendment was received by Licensing to change the category of care from Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) to Multi Age in one of the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program. The amendment to change the category of care on the Licence has been processed and an amended Licence was issued on June 2, 2022. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing.
